A closet rod in the middle of the space provides excellent storage for sweaters shirts and jackets while a closet rod next to the. In my own tiny closet i removed the dowel cut it to size and put two rods upper and lower on one side of the closet much like a walk in closest without the space to actually walk in then i put shelving on the opposite side and even more shelving above the dowel to store rarely used items. Sole satisfcation used grundtal shelves from ikea to add overhead space in their pantry but this could work equally well with linens or accessories like shoes or bags in a closet. Spacious ventilated shelves provide storage for out of season and less frequently used clothing.

The dead space between the cabinets and closet doors still need some panel molding. Sneak in extra pantry or closet storage you can squeeze even more space out of a small pantry or walk in closet by adding shelves above the door. Just string clothespins on aluminum wire it won t rust and stretch it between screw eyes on the back of a closet door. This also works great out in the garage for drying garden and work gloves.
