In 1979 the plant underwent another addition adding capabilities to treat another 24 million gallons. We will accomplish our mission safely cost effectively and in a manner that serves our customers well and protects the environment. The plant could now treat an additional 24 million gallons a day. Flocculation is a two stage process with a minimum 144 second period for each stage. This plant supplies water to nearly 3 400 customers located in these areas. It treats raw water which contains undesirable sediments color algae and other harmful organisms.

The water comes from lake michigan a surface water source through an intake pipe located about a mile offshore.
